The Botanist Gin explodes with flavours before you’ve even had a sip, opening with fresh mint, spices and a bright citrus fragrance.
Made on the Isle of Islay in the Hebrides of Scotland (usually more famous for whisky) the Botanist have made the first and only Islay Dry Gin.
“The Botanist”, uses a combination of 9 classic gin botanicals, including orris root, coriander seed, cassia bark and juniper, plus 22 further locally grown and hand picked botanicals such a sweet chamomile, creeping thistle, nettles and moss, all foraged from the harsh hills, peat bogs and cliffs and beaches of Islay.
With a hit of menthol and apple mint on the nose combined with coriander, aniseed, orange and floral aromas, the Botanist is bursting with flavours before you have even tasted it. Smooth in body and rich and mellow to taste, a citrus freshness is apparent, allowing a range of classic gin flavours to open up, ending with a comfortingly warm finish at the back of the mouth.
