Sir Robin Of Locksley
|Brand||Sir Robin Of Locksley|
|Distilled in||Sheffield, England|
A thoroughly Yorkshire gin, Sir Robin of Locksley is made in Sheffield by Locksley Distilling Co and named for one of its local heroes.
Their small batch, hand raised gin is a smooth and delicious affair. They lovingly blend traditional botanicals with more delicate infusions of elderflower, dandelion and pink grapefruit.
Sir Robin of Locksley has some rather up-front juniper with the delicate aroma of elderflower peeping through. Deliciously smooth on the palate; the warm cassia notes are soothed by the dandelion, while pink grapefruit is responsible for an underlying sweetness with a lingering citrus finish. Balanced yet distinctively unique.
Had this in the set of 5 and it wasn't too my taste. But that's just based on my personal preference and comparing it to others I have had the pleasure of drinking.
This was my favourite from the Gin Festival in Bristol. I subsequently purchased it from the website and it arrived with ease, speed, and very nifty protective packaging. It was just as good as I remembered (with a slice of pink grapefruit garnish) and finally opened the eyes of my family that there's more to life than Hendrick's. Unhesitatingly recommend.
This is a very nice gin. I tried this at the Liverpool gin festival in December last year and I could really taste the elderflower. I'd definitely try it again.
