Santamania London Dry Gin Reserva
|Distilled in||Madrid, Spain|
Madrid’s Santamania distillery use 14 botanicals including pistachio nutes and raspberries to make their London Dry Gin.
Santamania is made using an unusual grape base spirit with traditional botanicals like juniper berries,coriander seed, liquorice root, lime and lemon and angelica and orris root, as well as a few more radical ingredients such as pistachio nuts, raspberries, cinnamon, white pepper, dry ginger and rosemary. Santamania distillery have then made the bold move of aging the gin in oak barrels for 3 months to create the Santamania Reserva.
Santamania Reserva develops on the palate in a number of layers, starting with traditional gin flavours such as juniper, coriander and cinnamon and then moving into more complex flavours such as white pepper, liquorice and ginger. These flavours, and Santamania Reserva’s distinct colour, are not only taken from the botanicals used, but also captured from the French oak wine barrels that the gin is kept in before bottling. Santamania Reserva is a gin best sipped neat or in a bone dry martini to accentuate it’s distinct and original aromas and flavours.
