A Swedish gin, doused in mythology, Ragnarok very much lives up to its reputation!
Ragnarok was developed by 2 British gin devotees who were inspired by the mythology and landscape of Sweden, in particular by the tale of how the Norse god Odin lost his eye. Odin sacrificed his eye for the chance to drink from Mimir, the well of knowledge. After one drink, he obtained all the wisdom in the world. Our 2 gins lovers aimed to produce a spirit that was equally as illuminating.
Ragnarok is distilled in Sweden by Tevsjö Destilleri, (using Swedish winter barley).
Despite the pronounced scent of fresh, bright lingonberries, Ragnarok quickly develops into a surprisingly savory gin. The lingonberry remains and is joined by malty, caraway flavours alongside dill and a sharp, peppery finish.
Surprised me at first with its punchiness and peppery flavour. But was definitely one of the most memorable gins I tried at the festival!
