Get back to basics with the eco-friendly Cuckoo Gin. Light, fresh and classic, with piney juniper and a hint of citrus.
Cuckoo Gin is produced at the independent Brindle Distillery on Holmes Farm in beautiful rural Lancashire. The lovely people at Holmes Farm are dedicated to using sustainable and eco-friendly practices. All of the raw materials that go into making Cuckoo Gin either come directly from the farm or are locally sourced. The natural artesian aquifer, located in a nearby field, delivers fresh, natural spring water to the distillery. The botanicals that come from further afield are ethically and sustainably sourced from Bulgarian coriander to Spanish peels (grapefruit, orange, lemon) and Roman chamomile flowers to name a few. They have even researched and developed a special blend of juniper! In addition, their hand built copper still, Maggie is heated with renewable energy biomass boilers. Finally, byproducts of the distilling process are fed to their pedigree cattle and free-range chickens and straw from the barley is used for their bedding. The straw is also used in their packaging to keep bottles safe in transit. Any natural waste material is composted and spread on their fields to enrich the soil for growing next years grain. A distillery truly committed to a green future.
This is a straightforward, traditional gin with a soft tang on the nose, developing into a warm palate where juniper blends with citrus and cinnamon. A pleasant, dry finish with a hint of peppery coriander.
