Coming from Norwich's first distillery in 150 years, Bullards Norwich Dry Gin is a smooth London dry with balanced marzipan and cherry aromas.
The gin comes from a partnership between Patrick Fisher, owner of the Redwell Brewery, Russell Evans, co-owner of the historic Bullards brewing brand (which operated in the city for a 150 years until the early 80's and has now resumed production), Craig Allison, former manager of the Gin Palace in Norwich, and distiller Peter Smith. It has already scored a spirits masters gold in 2016 for best London Dry.
Bullards Norwich Dry Gin makes use of the tonka bean as its signature botanical. Hailing from South America, tonka beans impart balanced flavours of vanilla, cherry and almond to this sterling gin. The other 10 botanicals are a secret but lavender and cardamom are both prominent.
Distinctly sweet and floral on the nose with a very smooth flavour on the palate, this is a very easy drinking gin that's delicious neat. The tonka bean is obvious as is juniper. The finish is lightly spiced with lingering cardamom notes.
