Bombay Dry Gin
The oft forgotten elder sibling of Bombay Sapphire, Bombay Dry Gin is a classic London Dry Gin, heavily inspired by Thomas Dakin.
Bombay Spirits Co.began in the 1980s, inspired by an old recipe, they also came across an interesting technique - vapour infusion. Creating a range of delicate gins, Bombay is particularly popular with the American market.
A traditional London Dry gin with intense lemon on the nose, Bombay Original Dry Gin, has wonderfully strong juniper on the palate backed up with those strong lemon notes. There is a slight sense of burning pine alongside faint floral tones. A very well rounded gin.
A lovely dry gin, easy to drink, works well with lime and my favourite to add to gin ice cream.
I bought this gin as an alternative to the possibly more recognisable Bombay Sapphire and was delighted with my purchase. I actually think I prefer the Dry Gin. The taste is crisp and refreshing, whilst being very dry. Prefect with light or low cal tonic, it makes a perfect spring evening drink.
