Inspired by Japan and its tea culture, Desmond Payne created Beefeater 24 Gin. With Japanese sencha and Chinese green teas, this is something special.
Named for the iconic guards of the Tower of London, Beefeater Gin was established in 1876 by a pharmacist, Charles Burroughs, who had a passion for distilling and creating high quality, London Dry gins. Today, Beefeater is owned by Pernod Ricard but the recipes and passion remain unchanged. With Beefeater London Dry as their flagship gin, Beefeater have a whole range of gins. Interestingly, Beefeater Gin still throw an annual lunch for the Beefeater’s themselves.
Beefeater 24 Gin is a fragrant, light gin; soft juniper and tea come through on the nose along with rounded, grapefruit citrus notes. These flavours continue onto the palate and are joined by sweet lemon and floral undertones. A beautifully balanced gin.
Whilst not the best gin out there, this is definitely a great go to gin. Not too strong and not too pricey.
