Adnams Copperhouse Dry Gin
|Distilled in||Suffolk, England|
Adnams Copper House Dry Gin is a staunchly traditional London Dry with a few modern twists.
Based in Southwold the Adnams family have a long and rich heritage and have been creating high quality alcoholic beverages since the late 19th century. Adnams is perhaps best known for its brewery and beer but its gins and spirits are things of beauty too. Beyond their products, Adnams are a green and socially conscious company; they brew the only carbon neutral beer in the country, have a state of the art brewery and distillery and work in a sustainable manner.
Adnams Copper House Dry Gin is very traditional on the nose with strong juniper backed up by zesty orange citrus. The big, piney flavour continues on to the palate but is supremely blended with modern, floral tones (the unusual use of hibiscus is obvious here) and bold ginger. Delightfully zesty whilst maintaining the standard of a good London Dry.
This aromatic and fragrant gin outshines many of the standard offerings found in your local supermarket. A staple in the gin collection and something to turn to when you need a great classic with tonic, great value for something so good.
And in blind testings among friends scored very well!
Although being a fan of the Adnams ales, I was not expecting a great deal from the 'brewer gone distiller'.
My expectations soon changed after trying the Copper House.
The flavour is incredible and is a well balanced, this gin is hard to beat in my opinion.
While tasting dry gin at the fest,
I found one once voted world's best.
Adnams was its name,
I drank more than is sane,
And I couldn't remember the rest
