Gin Festival returns to the beautiful Victoria baths for another double weekender!
To say Manchester loves their gin is a massive understatement and we are pretty sure any Mancunian would agree too! You have your tickets and you are ready to go, but it’s not just about the festival. You have a whole weekend to explore the wonderful city of the worker bee!
Here are a few of our top picks to set you on your way. From pre/post drinks and ‘the morning after’ brunch, we’ve got this sorted.
The people known for the famous ‘Deaf Institute’ bring you a bar come dinner that offers live music nearly every night of the week! Winner of ‘The Best Burger in Manchester plus nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards, it’s sure a good place to get some much needed grub.
What’s more? The mezzanine bar at Gorilla hosts a Gin Parlour, a relaxed den purely dedicated to the consumption of glorious gin. So that’s prinks sorted too!

Take short walk to the quieter and quant side of town and located on portland street you’ll find Leaf. Leaf began as a small tea shop run by friends in a Liverpool city centre gallery in 2007 and now has two amazing spaces in both cities. Offering brunch, dinner, amazing cocktails and of course a wide selection of gin, Leaf is a great go to!

With two bars located in Birkdale and the Northern Quarter, Allotment offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of Manchester's side streets! Allotment serves up some of the best gin cocktails in the city, including the famous Teapot Sharers which are perfect for sharing with your gin buddies!

For that very much needed ‘morning after’ brunch make sure you check out ‘Federal’. With the menue jam-packed with delicious and fresh brunch options including your standard avo on toast, loaded pancakes and of course the full english breakfast (vegan and vegetarian options available) Federal is the perfect morning pick me up!

Just a short bus journey out of the center of manchester is the Whitworth! Part of the University of Manchester, the Whitworth is a gallery that is a place of research and academic collaboration, and whose education and learning teams have generated new approaches to working with non-traditional arts audiences. From historic exhibitions to contemporary commissions, via events outdoors and in, and for families, art lovers and friends the Whiteworth is the perfect way to spend a rainy day in Manchester.
Known as ‘the tredier’ part of Manchester, the Northern Quarter is know for the many cafes’ vintage shops and street art filled walls that litter it’s streets. It’s home to buzzy restaurants and some of the city’s liveliest music venues, which host up-and-coming indie bands and established acts. Cultural attractions include the artists’ studios at Manchester Craft and Design Centre, and rotating exhibits at the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art.
