The gorgeous Gin Mare is our September Gin of the Month, bursting with Mediterranean flavours.
This is a thoroughly modern Spanish gin, bursting with the wonderful taste of the Mediterranean; rosemary, olives, thyme and basil. The distillers have joined other Mediterranean gins around Europe in Spain, Italy and France using botanicals to unite cultures across the sea. Gin Mare is very aromatic, with an abundance of juniper and fresh coriander, savoury and faintly bitter with fragrant herbal notes.
What better way to make good use of the amazing gin than create a cocktail packed full of true Mediterranean flavours.
So...here we bring you the Melon Cooler!
What you’ll need;
40ml Gin Mare
20ml Fino Sherry
10ml St Germain Elderflower Liqueur
100ml Original Tonic Water (we recommend 1724 tonic water with Gin Mare)
Honeydew melon (cut into 2 large cubes)
Pinch of salt and sugar
2 Drops of Olive Oil Bitters
Sprig of Fresh Rosemary
1. Cut the melon into 3cm cubes and freeze the night before (or for about 4 hours).
2. Pour Gin Mare, Fino Sherry and elderflower liqueur into a highball glass, add a pinch of salt, pinch of sugar and two drops of olive oil bitters, then stir well.
3. Add the frozen melon cubes, stir again and top with 1724 tonic water.
