The Espresso Martini is one of our all time favourite cocktails, so we just had to do one with a ginny twist. Why do we love it so much - it’s versatile! This is a perfect pre-night out cocktail and the ideal pick me up when you get home from work. Quick, tasty and the coffee gives you a kick of caffeine energy, while you get ready to party.
Invite your gin buddies round, get ready for your night out together (or #ginnightin), mix this up and they’ll think you’re even more fabulous than they already do!
Add to your shaker/pint glass:
2 parts 987 Gin (adds a hint of vanilla and a touch of spice)
1 part Fresh Espresso
½ part Coffee Liqueur (we used Kahlúa)
½ part Sugar Syrup (mix 2 tbsp boiling water and 2 tbsp sugar to make a simple syrup)
Plenty of ice
Shake it all about, shake some more, strain into a glass, then garnish with coffee beans and an orange twist. Simple, classic and a thing of beauty!
* i. Parts made simple. Just stick to the ratios, so if you are making a jug ¼ of the jug could be 1 part, ½ the jug 2 parts. For 1 cocktail, 1 part would be approx 25ml and a dash 5ml, if you are making 2 cocktails, 1 part would be approx 50ml and so on - experiment and give it a try.
ii. If you don’t have a cocktail set you can shake the ingredients together in a pint glass using your hand or anything flat to seal the top and then strain through a sieve.
Use the right ice, ice, baby and make the best tasting G&Ts and cocktails ever!
