Our Trip to The Lakes Gin Distillery

As much as we love our office, the Gin Festival team were extremely happy to visit The Lakes Gin Distillery recently for a look around and a taste of this fantastic spirit.

Distilled in the stunning surroundings of the Lake District, Cumbria, The Lakes Gin is made from natural clear water from the River Derwent, blended with local botanicals.

The result is a taste of the Lakes in a bottle, as fresh and sunny as a day by the water. Here are a few things our team had to say about their visit to The Lakes Gin HQ:

Jym Harris, Co-Founder of The Gin Festival

"A beautiful setting with an amazing story. The experience was great and made the whole day out from the video area, to the distillery tour, seeing the barrels sitting full of liquid awaiting the time when it officially becomes whiskey was great. Well worth a visit if you’re passing the area.”

Laura Walsh, Events Assistant

‘It was a beautiful setting and location’

Courtney Brady, Events Assistant

“The distillery was pretty state of the art. The introduction was nice you got to watch the water from the stream it started at, flow all the way down to their reservoir on camera, not physically."

Help the Gorillas by drinking gin

Our Gin of the Month this month is doubly special. Not only is it a refreshingly light, floral and citrusy gin, but by drinking it you’re actually helping to save a whole species.
