GETTING THE RIGHT GARNISH
The difference between a decent G&T and the perfect G&T is garnish. We get it though - who has the time find out which garnish goes with each gin? Let us make your life easier with our fantastic Guide to Gin Garnish.
We’ve put together a fabulously festive top 5 just for you in our Cracking Christmas Cocktails blog. You could even wow your gin buddies by making Christmas Cranberry Gin. All of these recipes can be batch-made beforehand, so you’re not chained to drinks duties all night - woo hoo!
Who doesn’t love a cheeky boozy nibble?! Try our nice and simple Sloe Gin Mince Pies and Cupcakes for a fun and fruity treat. After, you need to line everyone's stomachs to absorb all those G&T's! (Please drink responsibly of course.)
Whether you DIY it (this brilliant blog will help), or go for the luxury items, making your house look stunning can be easy. A string of lights and some bunting indoors and outdoors can make it look like you’ve spent hours making your house/garden look amazing and it only takes a few minutes. As for the tree, you can keep it simple with a tiny one on your windowsill or go all out and get a real one. Either way make or buy a few unique decorations as well as using baubles - it’s a great way of going the extra mile for very little effort.
This is the adult version of a party bag - plus you only buy 1, not all of them! Pre-organise a secret santa, just get everyone to bring a little present, it can be made or bought, make sure you set a top price, less than £5 or £10. As your gin buddies arrive they put their gifts under the tree and when you’ve all got your first G&T in hand give each of your guests one to open (making sure it's not the one they brought...!).
If you and your friends love games as much as we do at HQ then you'll have a ball playing these! Here's a few ideas for you to try, for both adults and kids (just remember the children are not allowed to drink the gin!).
TRUTH OR LIES
A great icebreaker game, say 3 of the funniest Christmas presents you've ever been given, 2 that are true and 1 that's a lie.
WHO AM I?
Pick a Christmas character and use post-it notes to stick them on each others forehead then take it in turn to ask yes or no questions until you have worked out who's name you have on your forehead, fastest wins!
Find out who’s the biggest fan of Christmas - come up with festive words for every letter of the alphabet.
PIN THE NOSE ON RUDOLPH
Played like Pin the Tail on the Donkey; you'll blindfold someone, spin them in circles, then have them Pin the Nose on Rudolph.
Uncle Val's Botanical Gin is a little bit special, which is why we chose it as our May Gin of the Month! Summery and perfect for a summery G&T or delicious cocktail.
We know you love cocktails as much as we do, so here’s 7 fabulous recipes for world cocktail week.
