5 Big Batch Gin Cocktails

Summer is the season for barbecues, garden parties and time with friends. So we’ve put together 5 Big Batch gin cocktail recipes, ideal for easy entertaining.

Summer days cry out for long, easy drinks. You don’t want to be spending time in the kitchen mixing up cocktails when you could be outside enjoying yourself. So you need a drink you can make en masse. These punches and lemonades are just perfect for any kind of summer party.

Sparkling Rosemary Gin Lemonade

Sparkling Rosemary Gin Lemonde

Makes 6 servings.

Craving a long, refreshing drink? This grown-up lemonade is just what you need! Not too sweet and certainly not lacking in flavour, this will hit all of the right spots. We recommend using something light and clean like Lighthouse.

Step One

Muddle 10 sprigs of rosemary, 2 thinly sliced lemons and 30g of sugar in the base of a large jug.

Step Two

Add 200ml gin, 200 ml St Germain Elderflower Liqueur, 100ml fresh lemon juice and 250ml soda water to the jug, then stir thoroughly.

Step Three

Serve over ice with a slice of lemon.

 

Hayman’s Pear Punch

Hayman's Pear Punch

Makes 6 servings.

Crisp and sweet with a punch of barrel-aged goodness, this Hayman’s Pear Punch is simply perfect for long, summer evenings in the garden. The prosecco top adds a delightful lightness to the whole affair.

Step One

Add 75 ml pear puree*, 450ml Hayman’s Family Reserve, 60ml honey and 60ml hot water to a large jug and stir thoroughly. Leave to cool.

Step Two

Pour into an ice filled glass then top with prosecco and garnish with a slice of lemon.

* To make the pear puree,

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 190C/Gas mark 5.

  2. Peel and core two pears and bake for approximately 20 minutes, until the bottom side begins to caramelise.

  3. Add to blender with 3 1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice and 1/4 tsp ground clove.

 

R&R Collins

R & R Collins Gin Cocktail

Makes 12 servings.

Raspberries and rhubarb are undoubtedly two of the greatest offerings that summer has to give. Tart yet sweet, juicy and flavoursome, they are a match made in heaven and when you add a light citrus gin like Leeds Gin to this fruity power couple? Well, just see for yourself!

Step One

Add 450ml rhubarb and raspberry syrup*, 120ml fresh lime juice and 450ml Leeds Gin to an ice filled punch bowl.

Step Two

Pour in 1 litre of soda water and stir. Add slices of fresh lime.

Step Three

Serve over ice and garnish with more lime.

* To make the rhubarb and raspberry syrup

  1. Add 200g, rhubarb, 150g raspberry, 200g sugar, 50ml fresh lemon juice and 500ml water to a large pan.

  2. Bring to the boil then leave to simmer for 15 minutes.

  3. Take pan off the heat then leave to infuse for 30 minutes.

  4. Strain the syrup and store it.

 

Blueberry and Lavender Spritzer

Blueberry and Lavender Spritzer

Makes 12 servings.

Tart, fresh and floral, this Blueberry and Lavender Spritzer is a bright and elegant drink, that’s well complemented by soft and fruity gins, like Sikkim Bilberry.

Step One

Fill a dispensing jar with ice and add 500ml gin, 200ml blueberry and lavender syrup*, 70ml fresh lime juice and a litre of soda.

Step Two

Serve with blueberries.

*To make blueberry and lavender syrup

  1. Add 250ml water, 250g blueberries, 250g sugar and 8 sprigs lavender to a large pan.

  2. Bring to the boil then simmer for 15 minutes.

  3. Take the pan off the heat and leave to infuse for 30 minutes.

  4. Strain the syrup and store it.

 

Pink Aperol Punch

Pink Aperol Punch

Makes 12 servings.

If you’re usually a fan of shorter, sharper drinks and think big batch drinks aren’t for you, think again! This Aperol Punch is bittersweet, complex tasting and delightfully easy to make. It needs a solid London Dry, something like Pink 47, to really bring out the best in it.

Step One

Combine 500ml Pink 47, 350ml Aperol, 50ml lemon juice, 50ml lime juice, 75ml grapefruit juice and 750ml sparkling wine in a large, ice-filled punch bowl. Add 8 dashes of orange bitters and stir thoroughly.

Step Two

Garnish with orange slices.
