Job type: Full time, 40 hours per week. Permanent with a 6 month probationary period

Job Description:

Gin Festival is a forward thinking and rapidly growing events, e-commerce and a subscription box company and this is an exciting new role to join us as an events assistant.

Main roles and responsibilities

  • An understanding of mixing live music, of a wide range of genres and using unfamiliar audio and lighting equipment.

  • The ability to liaise with musicians and in-house and external tech suppliers in the build up to and delivery of the events.

  • Previous experience of using professional lighting equipment and an artistic flair to maximise the customer experience through sound and lighting in our chosen venues.

  • Ongoing tech support to all of the event departments, this will include troubleshooting, supporting IT equipment and AV systems.

  • Proven experience of network administration is desirable.

  • Attend events to assist with the set-up, delivery and breakdown.

  • Supervision of defined aspects of an event to manage safety and customer service.

  • Offer training and product knowledge to new staff members.

  • To carry out any other duties appropriate to the grade and nature of the post as directed.

  • Some bar work and general administration knowledge would also be preferable as you will be expected to help at busy times on bars.

Skills experience and qualifications:

  • Have a full clean driving license and willing to drive to events as necessary.

  • 1+ years experience of working at events or a bar.

  • Flexible with hours to meet the needs of the business.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

  • Creative approach to problem-solving.

  • High level of attention to detail.

  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

We are a nationwide company with a full calendar of events and this role is hands on and involves working away from home.
